Currently // Week of August 8

Eating: John and I tried brunch at Vivify this weekend, a change up from our usual routine of the Sunken Well (or homemade eggs and cereal, my speciality). It was pretty good, albeit a little pricey. I got the Egg Belly Benny - an english muffin topped with a slice of pork belly, a poached egg, and a hollandaise/chive sauce. John got the Chicken and Waffles 2. A mimosa and a bloody Mary were also included, obviously.

Celebrating: This weekend we attended a couples bridal shower for one of our good friends and her fiancΓ©. It's totally fitting that their shower was complete with a pool party and lots of great barbecue, as they are two of the most fun people we know! We love the future Weyants, and we can't wait to celebrate with them in December! It's also my dad's birthday this weekend - we are heading to my parent's house for dinner and a little celebration later this afternoon. 

Planning: I'm so excited that John and I will be going on a vacation later this month! We are planning on being gone from 8/27 to 9/4, coming home on Monday, September 5th. We'll be staying at his parent's home on Hilton Head Island for the most part, but we are planning on taking a couple overnight trips to Charleston and Savannah, and at least one day trip to Beaufort. I ove Charleston and I can't wait to experience it with John. Delicious seafood, fun nightlife, and Rainbow Row are a few of my favorite things.  Neither of us have been to Savannah - I'd love any advice or must-dos for the Historic District!

Reading: I started a book club for my work, and our first book is "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nahisi Coates. I haven't actually started reading it yet, because the Lonely Planet, Travel & Leisure, and Real Simple magazines have taken priority.
