Listening: Jay and I took a last minute trip to see Luke Bryan on Friday, so I've been in a country mood lately! The concert was so fun, and the spontaneity of it made it all the more exciting. Jon got home a little bit early from work and lawn seats were cheap, so we bought them on the Ticket Master App as I drove up to the amphitheater. We ran into quite a few people we know, including his sister and brother in law! We made our way up to their section (which was much closer than the lawn). Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, and Dustin Lynch were all amazing and it was one of the best concerts I've been to! Everyone played their best hit songs, and we spent the night dancing and singing away!
Watching: Copa America, and most recently, the Euro cup, have been on in the Allison household. The United States miraculously won their group in the Copa America, and I'm a huge Italy fan (they play today at 3:00pm!), and we'll take any excuse to watch soccer. The coverage is getting us excited for the Olympics, and it's been a nice break from the media coverage of the horrible tragedy in Orlando.
Making: Update on last week's week's kitchen adventure - I tried to make sweet tea. Easy, right? How can anyone mess that up? Right? Sure enough, I got the pitcher size wrong, wasn't able to add enough water to the tea/sugar base, and the sweet tea was EXTRA sweet...like 4 cups of tea and 1.5 cups of sugar, sweet. So I need to dilute it before it's consumable without automatically inducing diabetes. However, this morning there was a major breakthrough - I made old bay baked wings that taste just like the fried kind! I followed this recipe and Jay was happily surprised when came home for lunch!
Doing: This weekend we saw Luke Bryan, attended my little brother's High School Graduation, attended a pig roast (my first ever), helped move his sister and brother-in-law into their new home, and ate Sunday dinner at my parent's house. It was an eventful and family-filled weekend, the best kind!
Celebrating: John and I are celebrating one WHOLE year of marriage! We are going to a Dave Matthews concert at the beach this weekend to celebrate, but we will definitely be popping some champagne and digging into our cake tonight. I can't believe it's already been a whole year, but it's been the best year yet and I can't wait for the next year! In year one, we've paid off over $10,000 in debt (not including $20,000 for Jay's student loan!), traveled fun places (Clemson, Dallas, Las Vegas, Ochos Rios, Hilton Head Island), completed a ton of home projects (landscaping, fence, crown molding, chair rail/shadow boxing, attempting to decorate), celebrated two promotions, and started planning to travel the world. Here's to Year 2 and many more!
